Did you ever wish you could just plan your own hunt in advance and stick to those plans without waiting for the results of the draw? Not knowing what you will hunt until a specific date can sometimes be a hassle as you may have other options on where to hunt and what to hunt. Here on the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation you have that very option, knowing you will go on a hunt sometimes a year in advance. Here on the San Carlos, you are almost guaranteed to get a big game tag for the species we have to offer as long as you are first in line for that tag. We have a "First come first served" policy and that is what attracts hunters from all over. Here, they know that they can purchase a tag about a year in advance and can plan for it well ahead of time without trying to juggle their schedule to work with a hunt you just got drawn for. Sure our tags may be more expensive that most areas but isn't it worth knowing you HAVE a hunt to go on? Of course sometimes when the tags go on sale, there may be a line beginning 3 days before the actual sale of the tags, and perhaps you do not have 3 days to waste standing in line..... Well we at Apache Outdoors may be able to help you. As the policy states here, licensed guides in San Carlos can purchase big game tags for their clients with intent to hire. If you cannot take the time off to stand in line for these tags, as long as you are agreeing to hire Apache Outdoors Guide Service for your hunt, we can purchase the tags for you with the proper documents and photocopy of your ID. As long as the hunter understands that tag and permit fees are separate from guide fees, hunters shouldn't have any problems purchasing big game tags as long as they are willing to do their part and be "First in line".



Apache Outdoors offers guided hunts to satisfy any hunters expectations. We have outfitted for all big game hunts offered on the San Carlos Apache Reservation and have had very good success. Our clients leave with a new satisfaction and understanding of the outdoors and the game it offers. We strive to teach as well as learn with our clients the wonders and techniques of pursuing big and small game as well as fishing and recreation. On our big game hunts, we offer fully guided hunts with all meals provided with lodging and transportation to and from San Carlos to the hunt areas. Our meals can include special diets for those of you who may be under programs or trying to eat a healthy meal while not diminishing foods needed for energy to hike the landscape we have. Each meal is hot and always ready on time. Our cooks prepare everything from scratch and can cater to individual needs if requested. If you enjoy a hearty meal cooked over a fire in dutch ovens and a hot cup of coffee to go with it or any drinks you prefer, then we are the outfitter you want. Stories will fill the atmosphere around the campfire and you will have a new sense of being in a special place. Also, snacks are always available at any time and we always have an open kitchen 24 hrs a day.



When we head out to the field, each hunter and guide is sent on his way with a lunch usually consisting of a couple of sandwiches and a drink with some small candy or granola bars. If one has a request for a particular meal, just let our cooks know and they will do their best to oblige your tastes. If available, we also have cell phones for use if needed to call home or check on your business while you are away. When a hunter harvests an animal, we pack it out for the hunter and cape out any heads and we make sure they will be in good condition until they make it to a taxidermist. We also refer clients to meat processors in the area. Our camps are open to anyone who stops in and with a friendly atmosphere like we provide, makes for a better experience and memories that will last a lifetime. We also enjoy offering our services to the first time hunter and can teach as we go along to make sure the young client leaves with a great respect for the wild and some knowledge that he cannot gain anywhere else but in a camp in the wild. With our success rate being above average for all species, you are assured that you will have the best possible chance at harvesting your animal and taking home a fine trophy.



For the fisherman, we offer fishing trips that can be guided and fully furnished overnight camps with all meals and lodging included. You have a choice of fishing for trout in the high country with largemouth bass and small mouth bass available in the same areas or you can fish the lower areas for largemouth bass, catfish and crappie as well as sunfish. We can offer some truly trophy fishing trips where you can sometimes catch largemouth bass weighing several pounds and coming back to camp to have fresh fried fish for dinner. In our lakes, you can enjoy the day on a boat fishing for the crappie and have some truly great success and many times can catch your limit for the day. Bass are also a great game fish and some bass have been caught in the neighborhood of 8 lbs. We also have the Black River on our northern boundary with the White Mtn Apache Tribe and this river holds some of the very best trout and small mouth bass fishing anywhere in the west. With picturesque sceneries and remote areas to hike, you truly will feel the sense of being totally alone in the world. You can camp for days and not see another soul. It is a trip worth taking just for the solitude alone!



During your stay with us, you will experience quite a few things. One of the lessons you may learn is history. As you may or may not be aware of, this land we call the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation is very full of Apache history. Our ancestors have inhabited this area for centuries. All our stories and experiences originate from all of the very areas you will be hunting! Yes, this is our home and has been for hundreds of years and forever will be. Our great leaders such as Geronimo, Cochise, Mangas Naiche and many others have lived, breathed and walked this very land we call home! Some of the old trails they used to escape the army are still visible to this day. Some of the old military trails are also still visible too. As we conduct our hunts, please feel free to inquire about our culture and ways of life. We are all very experienced in our rich history and most of us are very fluent in our native language. The relationship we have with the animals we pursue and that live among is very deep. Respect is the number one thing we have with nature and all its inhabitants, including yourself. An Apache will always respect all that is around him and take extreme care not to disturb or upset the balance that exists in nature. If you decide you want to take your next trip to the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation, Please feel free to call us and set up some dates for your next outdoor experience. Apache Outdoors does require a 50% deposit to book dates and reserve them for your trip and can be done by phone or in person. All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE but can be applied to a different trip of equal value if you are not able to make your trip for any reason, or a later date can be set according to your schedule. Either way we will work with you to make certain your deposit is available upon reschedule with no change in the rate regardless of price changes we may have to do in the future. You will be assured of your booked dates and that any alteration in your planned hunt which may result from OUR mistakes at Apache Outdoors will guarantee that your deposit will be refunded or may be applied to another hunt of your choice as long as you pay the balance, if any, of the difference. Any problems that arise due to the San Carlos Recreation and Wildlife Dept.'s changes is their responsibility and we do not refund due to their sudden changes. Also unforeseen bad weather does not permit a refund but as always, your deposit will always be there for you to utilize for whichever trip you decide on. All balances MUST BE PAID IN FULL prior to your trip or upon arrival. Any alterations on your part will be adjusted by us at Apache Outdoors and please be assured we will always be fair and will work with you from start to finish.
