As a professional guide and outfitter in the state of Arizona who employs Bob Stevens for off Reservation hunts it is with great ease and pleasure I write this recommendation.  Simply stated, there is no guide like Bob Stevens in this state.  His God given talent combined with his positive attitude, glassing skills, connection to nature and physical conditioning are a winning combination for any hunter interested in hiring him.  I was introduced to Bob when he guided me and a good friend on a javelina hunt almost a decade ago.  When I first met him I didn't know what to expect. Within 24 hours however, I knew I was in the company of a man with great wisdom, great abilities, great respect for nature and a great heart.  My hunt with Bob was so much more than just a hunt. Bob took the time to introduce me to the basics of the "Apache Way" and the impact some of the animals have had not only on his livelihood, but also his own life.  Over time, Bob has grown to mean so much to me and I am eternally grateful that our paths crossed in the infancy of my own guide business. Bob is a great teacher and I yearn to spend every moment I can with him listening to him. Bob is a great mentor and as he has grown to know me and open up to me, I am honored to have become one of his fortunate students. As a result of being his student I am not only a better guide and outfitter, but also a better father, husband and man. When you hire Bob for a hunt I do have one piece of advice: Don't waste your words trying to impress him with your own hunting prowess or skills. Don't bother telling him about the country or province you just returned on a hunt from, as it will change nothing about how your hunt is conducted. Simply stated, you are in the company of true greatness, keep your ears and mind open and your mouth closed. This Warrior I call friend and brother, will teach you more than you ever could him.

"I have hunted and fished with Bob Stevens for several years and I can assure anyone thinking of booking a trip with him that they will get more than a 100% effort. Bob not only knows his area very well, he has an unbelievable knowledge of the animals he hunts.
Not only will you get a great hunting trip but Bob can give you a great history of the San Carlos Apache Nation.
Over the years Bob and I have become close personal friends and on one occasion I became an honorary Apache but that's another story."....Ken

"I have been privileged to hunt with Bob Stevens "The Apache Way".  I have been blessed to be a successful hunter and give good credit to Bob's scouting and tracking skills.  Bob knows the animals; what they will do and where they will go.  His knowledge is indispensable for a hunter who is willing to put aside his ego, listen, take advantage of the information given, absorb the power of the land, and appreciate the culture. On one of my first hunts that proved initially frustrating, Bob pulled me aside and imparted sage advice in the characteristic, quiet Apache demeanor, "You have to tell the animals what you want them to do".  I have never forgotten that quiet wisdom.  Bob is a hunter's secret weapon when hunting the San Carlos."....Dave

I’ve been afforded this opportunity to write about my personal knowledge of Bob Stevens.  I have personally known Bob for quite some time. But time is insignificant in our relationship! Rather it’s the discussions Bob and I have had and continue to have about our families our lives and and the sacred animal we purse.  In talking to Bob it’s interesting how similar our lives have been in respecting and honoring the animals we purse and harvest, and how these animals have become an important part of our lives. I’ve also had the opportunity to guide with Bob, and was so impressed with his ability to find game that he will be guiding me and my son on future Coues Whitetail hunts on San Carlos Reservation. I consider myself a fortunate man to call Bob my friend.

"While I haven't hunted the reservation with Bob, I have been a guide in camp off the reservation with Bob and have nothing but high praise for his knowledge of animals we were hunting, his stalking and tracking skills. If the clients will listen to him, he will put them on game that meets or exceeds their goals"....Bill

"We were at least a mile deep in a remote canyon when I shot my Coues deer. We got on the radio and called for assistance and not only did Bob travel all the way down to us but he assisted in a tricky caping procedure and then he put all the quarters in his pack and carried them on a very long hike back to camp. Can't wait to hunt Coues deer with him again next season"....Doug

“we bird hunt all over the southwest and usually hunt over 40 days a season.  Many years ago during the peak of the drought when numbers were down and it was hard to give the dogs a good workout, we heard about a guy in San Carlos that could put you on a lot of birds.  The stories were true and that ‘guy’ was Bob Stevens.  Ever since and even in the good years we still like to get out to see Bob and the beautiful country of San Carlos.  No crowds, lots of birds and one of the best guided hunts you’ll find.”....Joe

"I have hunted both quail and turkey with Bob. I give him the highest possible recommendation as a hunting guide, but he's much more than that. He's one of the best men you'll ever meet in your life. He's intelligent, honorable, spiritual, and absolutely in tune with nature. After being in the field with Bob, you'll be richer for the experience. And if you should ever become his friend, your life will be greatly enhanced. He's the real deal"....Ed

"I have known Bob S. now for 5 or more years.  I get to hunt birds with him at least a couple of times a season. He is perhaps the most knowlegeable person I know when it comes to San Carlos wildlife and habitat.  He is very personable with the great sense of humor. Every time I go out in the hills with Bob I learn something.  It becomes an educational as well as a hunting experience. Highly recommended."....Bob C.

"Bob Stevens is truly a guide's guide.  He knows absolutely every inch of the beautiful San Carlos Reservation. Bob is one of the most knowledgeable and hardest working guides you will come across, so whether you're chasing quail, monstrous bears, the elusive coues deer or giant bugling bulls your experience is sure to be incredible."....Matt
